Many of us
have hidden talents and for most of us they remain hidden, but a
lucky few who have found their niche and are producing excellent
work that needs to be put out to the world. This is where
ePublishing can help. Getting your work published can be an
arduous task, equal if not even more difficult than producing
the finished work in the first place. This is especially true
for unpublished, or relatively unknown authors who can send
their work to a wide variety of publishers without ever getting
a favourable response.
There are
many sites online that will tell you precisely how to publish a
book, and there are a wide range of ways it can be done. All of
them are difficult, time-consuming, or costly.
The
New York Times reported that "According to a recent
survey, 81% of people feel that they have a book in them...and
should write it." That would mean that there are millions
of people in the UK feel that they have something to write about
and
with so many would-be
writers around, publishers can afford to be very choosy. Most
will only accept work from writers who have already been
published, but getting that first work published can be a
daunting and difficult task. Many very good writers just never
get published at all. Many famous authors and their books were
rejected multiple times by traditional publishers.
Richard Bach’s presented
"Johnathan Livingston Seagull" at least 140 times
unsuccessfully!
Margaret Mitchell’s "Gone With the Wind" was rejected 38
times.
Stephen King’s "Carrie" was turned down 30
times.
J. K. Rowling’s original work was rejected by 12 publishers!
E. E. Cummings first work "The Enormous Room", now
considered a masterpiece, was ultimately self-published and
dedicated to the 15 publishers who rejected it.
At Freelance
ePublishing things are different. We don’t mind if you’ve never
published a book before, or even if you plan on never writing
another ever again. What we are here for is to make the most of
the work you have already produced.
